Laterite mining
Shallow, free-dig ore developed in staged mining campaigns.
Kwamtoro Nickel Project · Tanzania
A resource-gated exploration and modular processing strategy designed to create a practical pathway to Mixed Hydroxide Precipitate production.
Exploration foundation
The Kwamtoro asset is located in Kondoa District, Dodoma Region, under Prospecting Licence PL 13650/2025.
SGS Tanzania soil assays identify a coherent nickel-cobalt- chromium-iron geochemical signature over interpreted ultramafic host geology. The project is in early exploration, with trenching, auger drilling, mineralogy, and follow-up technical work planned to test the anomaly.
The product pathway
MHP is a nickel-cobalt intermediate produced through hydrometallurgical processing of laterite ore. It provides a pathway into nickel-sulphate and cathode-material supply chains.
Shallow, free-dig ore developed in staged mining campaigns.
Scrubbing, classification, and blending for consistent leach feed.
Atmospheric or pressure-leach pathways selected through test work.
Counter-current washing and impurity removal.
Nickel and cobalt recovered as mixed hydroxide.
A battery-chain intermediate for further refining.
Resource-gated roadmap
Each phase is designed to reduce geological, metallurgical, regulatory, and commercial uncertainty before larger capital commitments.
Tanzania execution advantage
Existing nickel ore activity, contractors, logistics, and regional mining expertise provide a practical operating base.
Existing pits, roads, and small-scale industrial production can support a staged route while Kisma defines its own resource.
Atmospheric-leach and heap-leach concepts can be tested at an appropriate scale before any full-scale pressure-leach investment.
Processing and environmental work is being advanced in parallel with exploration and technical validation.
Long-term ambition
This production target is an aspirational development case, not a current production forecast. It remains subject to resource definition, metallurgical performance, feasibility, permits, financing, construction, commissioning, and market agreements.
